Black Wolf Molecular Solutions is thrilled to share the exciting news that it is now 100% owned by the Heart Lake First Nation #469. Nestled approximately 70 kilometres northeast of the Town of Lac La Biche, Alberta, and 220 kilometres northeast of Edmonton, Alberta, Heart Lake First Nation's 4496-hectare reserve along the west and north side of Hwy 881 Heart Lake is steeped in history and resilience.
As a proud signatory to Treaty 6 and a member of the Tribal Chiefs’ Ventures Tribal Council, Heart Lake First Nation has long been known for its self-sufficiency and unwavering spirit. Our community's rich heritage is deeply rooted in practices of harvesting, hunting, trapping, and fishing within their traditional lands, fulfilling a myriad of needs encompassing subsistence, economic, livelihood, nutritional, social, cultural, and spirituality . However, the landscape has evolved due to extensive resource development, impacting our traditional way of life.
In response to these challenges, Heart Lake First Nation has embarked on a journey of embracing new economic opportunities while remaining steadfast in honouring our heritage. The complete ownership of Black Wolf Molecular Solutions marks a significant milestone in this transformative endeavour, granting the community control over their economic destiny. This pivotal step not only reinforces the community's sovereignty but also ensures that the fruits of business endeavours are reinvested back into the community, nurturing growth and prosperity for present and future generations.
